AWS S3 Last Mile

MLADU can handle the complexities of secure data transfers by creating and managing a dedicated AWS S3 bucket for your uploads or downloads. Each bucket is exclusively designed for a single data transfer, ensuring security, efficiency, and peace of mind.

How It Works

  • Temporary, Secure Buckets: MLADU creates an AWS S3 bucket solely for your data transfer. These buckets are fully governed by MLADU and are destroyed immediately after the transfer, along with any IAM access keys provided for access
  • Secure Access: IAM access keys are generated specifically for your transfer, ensuring a secure and streamlined process

Built-In Data Integrity

We prioritize the integrity of your data. By leveraging AWS checksum values, MLADU ensures that every file is transferred accurately. After each transfer, a detailed manifest is generated, giving you full visibility into the process.

File Size Requirements

MLADU operates within AWS file size limitations, supporting individual files ranging from 0 bytes to a maximum of 5 TB. For single PUT operations, the limit is currently 5 GB, in line with AWS standards. Please note that these limits may change based on AWS updates.

By managing dedicated, secure S3 buckets for every transfer, MLADU eliminates the hassle of configuration and security concerns. You can trust us to handle your data transfers with precision, transparency, and a commitment to the highest standards of security.

Data Storage Policies and Associated Fees

At MLADU, we specialize in efficient data transfers rather than data storage. As such, the availability of transferred data is limited to a maximum of 7 calendar days following the completion of the data transfer. Starting 3 calendar days after the transfer is completed, data storage fees will apply.

These storage fees will be directly billed to your account without any additional overhead or markup. Additionally, any volume discounts MLADU receives for utilizing the data platform will be passed on to you. Data storage costs may encompass factors such as storage based on data size, network ingress/egress fees for data access, and other platform-related charges.

For security and cost-efficiency reasons, all data will be automatically expunged from MLADU systems on the 7th calendar day after the transfer is completed. At this point, the data will no longer be accessible. Should you need the data again, you can simply initiate another transfer, which will be treated as a new transaction and charged accordingly, deducting from your available data transfer byte balance.

Recommendation for Large Data Transfers

If you're new to this process or handling data sets exceeding 1 TB, we strongly encourage running a test transfer prior to initiating the actual transfer. Our Concierge Team will proactively inquire if you'd like to conduct this test, and we highly recommend taking advantage of this service to ensure a smooth experience. While MLADU is designed for rapid data transfer, managing large data sets may pose challenges depending on your infrastructure.
